Whether online or on television, the idea of appealing to an audience still exists. To do so, a reporter needs superb writing, an understanding of the community and quality storytelling. My stories contain all three elements, along with the energy to engage the viewer.
After covering Mizzou basketball’s coaching search, I realize the value of the online audience. Today’s journalist needs social media to satisfy demand for instant news updates. But it is my job to report quality information, not rumors.
This is not the time to fear change. I look at journalism’s uncertain future with an eager nature and an open mind, and my reporting reflects that attitude.
